A Study of RANS Turbulence Models in Fully Turbulent Jets: A Perspective for CFD-DEM Simulations

This paper presents an analysis of linear viscous stress Favre averaged turbulence models for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) fully turbulent round jets with a long straight tube geometry in the near field. Although similar work has been performed past very relevant solutions, considerations were not given issues and limitations involved coupling between Eulerian Lagrangian phase, such as two-way coupled CFD-DEM. These include on solution domain, mesh cell size, wall modelling, momentum two phases relation to particles size. Therefore, within these considerations, solutions are provided Navier–Stokes equations various using three-dimensional wedge developed flow. Simulations Reynolds number 13,000 51,000 different diameters. It is found that modified k-ε model achieved most agreeable results both velocity flow fields regimes, while k-ω SST/BSL also suitable results.
